News from polifonia

The Netherlands AI Coalition’s working group Culture and Media collaborates with the Working Group Human Capital in their next Communityday – a yearly gathering for professionals working in the culture, media, art and education sector. This year’s line up includes Polifonia.

Each autumn, an international event dedicated to digital art and electronic music takes place in Bologna: ROBOT Festival. Polifonia will be part of this exciting festival with a talk held by Valentina Presutti, Coordinator of the Project, on the 14th of October.

Are Dutch folk songs related to Irish folk songs? Melodies of European musical traditions are compared in Polifonia’s TUNES pilot with use of the latest technologies. Pilot leader Peter van Kranenburg explains this approach in our new video.

Last year, the Polifonia project and new ways of engaging with our musical past were introduced to audiences of all ages during the European Night of the Researcher. This year, the Polifonia team looks forward to returning to this colorful event!

The MEETUPS pilot  focuses on supporting music historians and teachers by providing a Web tool that enables the exploration and visualisation of encounters between people in the musical world. A new demo video gives a sneak peak into the interface.
