Tune in for a charming bell concert at Avegno (IT)
Associazione Campanari Liguri with the cooperation of Polifonia, MiC, ICCD, Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio per la città metropolitana di Genova e la provincia di La Spezia are organising a bell concert at the church of San Pietro Apostolo, Avegno (Italy). This is the first of a series of concerts that will be part of, and inspired by our BELL pilot.

This is the first of a series of concerts that will be part of, and inspired by our BELL pilot.
Bell heritage – bells, bell towers, sound practices – is complex and fascinating and influences our perception of the places we live daily. Also, bell towers are certainly one of the architectural elements that best characterize the European landscape, especially the Italian. The medieval San Pietro Apostolo bell tower in Avegno is one out of many beautiful examples of a combination of tangible and intangible heritage. With the BELL pilot, Polifonia intends to encode this tangible and intangible value in a knowledge graph, which will be made publicly accessible to any bell music lover for them to explore.
The concert will take place upcoming Saturday, September 10th at 17.30 CET in Avegno (GE, Italy). For those unable to experience the performance on site, please tune in for a livestream provided by the ICCD YouTube channel.

TONALITIES, IReMus’ pilot for musical heritage data project Polifonia, develops tools for the modal-tonal identification, exploration and classification of monophonic and polyphonic notated music from the Renaissance to the twentieth century. After four years of development work, the Polifonia project team is excited to present the results. The consortium, consisting of 10 partners from Italy, the Netherlands, France, England and Ireland launches the music discoverability platform ‘Polifonia Web Portal’.
