Prolific musicologist Marco Gurrieri joins the Polifonia project at the IReMus
Marco Gurrieri has recently joined the Polifonia team of the Institut de Recherche en Musicologie as a postdoctoral researcher. Dr Gurrieri has a double expertise in musical heritage and digital musicology. In Polifonia, he coordinates the WP1 and is involved in the modal analytical aspects of the TONALITIES pilot.
Dr Gurrieri was previously a fellow at the Center for Renaissance Studies in Tours, where he participated in various digital musicology projects such as Gesualdo Online, Personae, Citations: the Renaissance Imitation Mass, GioQoso, an Online Quality Assessment Tool for Music. He holds a PhD (2009) in musicology and philological sciences from the University of Pavia, and has extensively published on musical heritage, Renaissance, Italian Seicento, and French and Italian opera. Next to research, he has also collaborated with prominent Italian opera houses and early music festivals including Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Regio in Parma, Cremona Monteverdi Festival, Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, and Ravenna Festival.
